An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Clerical Officer/Receptionist to join the administration team at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Based primarily at Beeston Clinic, the role also requires working at Stapleford Care Centre and Kimberley Clinic.

You’ll play a vital role in providing a welcoming reception service and efficient clerical support to staff and patients across multiple health centres.

Role Overview

As a Clerical Officer/Receptionist, you’ll ensure a high-quality reception and administration service is provided to staff, patients, and visitors. The role involves clerical support, appointment booking, record management, and general administrative duties across health centres.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a welcoming and confidential reception service
  • Deliver efficient clerical support to clinical and managerial staff
  • Handle incoming calls, enquiries, and requests, forwarding appropriately
  • Book and notify patients of appointments
  • Type reports and correspondence
  • Maintain filing systems and health records (manual and electronic)
  • Collect, distribute, and post mail
  • Support patients with supplies available from the health centre
  • Travel to other bases within the organisation to provide admin support
  • Undertake other duties delegated by the Centre Manager

Eligibility Requirements

Qualifications

  • Essential: NVQ2 in Business & Administration (or working towards); OCR/RSA II typing/word processing or equivalent
  • Desirable: ECDL or equivalent

Experience

  • Essential: Customer service experience
  • Desirable: Office environment experience; use of SystmOne or RIO

Skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of IT systems
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Knowledge

  • Awareness of confidentiality requirements (GDPR)
